Adelante School Committees

Our Committes

California Department of Education requires public schools, like Adelante Charter School, to have standing committees in addition to a school board. There are two standing committees at Adelante: School Site Council and Emergent Bilingual Advisory Committee (both detailed below. School committees involve members of faculty, staff, administration, and, and essential part, parents. Including these different members of our school committees allows for multiple views for decision-making and facilitating dialogue between the different stakeholders for the school. Our committees also offer the opportunity for group problem-solving.. For these reasons, committee effectiveness is crucial for our campus community.

We'd appreciate any participation in any of our committees, as a official member or just as a person that can attend the meetings.

School Site Council (SSC)

School Site Councils (SSC) are a legally mandated advisory group in California, composed of teachers, parents, and administrators, The council collaborates to improve school performance. Its primary responsibility is to develop and oversee the school's Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), which outlines strategies for improving student outcomes. The council also plays a role in budget allocation and ensures the school adheres to relevant laws and regulations.

Our scheduled meetings are typically the second Tuesday of every month from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm on Zoom.

Agendas and information about each meeting is posted pubilicy at our school's main enterence on Yanonali and on Parent Square.

For scheduled meetings any one may attend. Use this + link to join our Zoom meetings.

Emergent Bilingual Advisory Committee (EBAC)

Each California public school with 21 or more English Learners must form an English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). At Adelante EBAC the term “emergent bilingual” is intended as a positive description of these students, in that it emphasizes that they’re learning in two languages, and that both the home language and new language are of value.

Our scheduled meetings are typically the second Tuesday of every month from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm on Zoom.

Agendas and information about each meeting is posted pubilicy at our school's main enterence on Yanonali and on Parent Square.
